Policy Objective
The primary aim of this policy is to actively support and implement superior animal husbandry practices, ensuring compassionate treatment at all stages of the production process within ANGORAH®’s supply chain. This extends from the initial farm settings through to stockyards, encompassing all aspects related to breeding, transportation, harvesting, shearing, and similar activities involving animal-derived products and mohair materials.
At ANGORAH®, one of our core strengths is our deep expertise in sourcing Angora goat wool. We possess a detailed understanding of the mohair wool production landscape, which enables us to meticulously work with only the most reliable and exemplary producers. This ensures that our supply chain is not only robust but also aligns with our commitment to quality and ethical standards.
We strongly advocate for our business partners to adhere to this policy and urge them to enhance oversight and control over their segments of the supply chain. Furthermore, we encourage them to demand the same high standards from their subcontractors.
We promote collaboration among all stakeholders to foster better industry dialogue and to improve traceability and transparency down to the farm level, ensuring that our commitment to ethical practices and excellence in production is upheld throughout the supply chain.
Scope
This policy refers to all materials used in the ANGORAH® supply chain, which originate from animals, such as animal hair.
Animal Hair & Wool
At ANGORAH®, we exclusively utilize hair from living and domesticated Angora goats. We are committed to ensuring that no harm comes to the animals during the collection process, adhering to the highest standards of ethical animal treatment.
Ethical Sourcing Practices
Our Angora goat hair must not originate from animals that have been subjected to any practices similar to mulesing or from farms that engage in such practices. We prioritize the welfare of our animals, ensuring that all hair is sourced in a manner that respects their well-being and does not cause them harm.
Free Range Breeding
At ANGORAH®, we exclusively use hair from Angora goats that are raised in free-range conditions. Our commitment ensures that none of our goat hair comes from animals reared in confinement for their hair or skin, reinforcing our dedication to sustainable and humane farming practices.
Fur Policy
In line with the Fur Free Alliance’s Retailer Program, the use of fur is strictly prohibited in our products. This policy excludes the use of fleece, sheepskin, or leather with hair attached, typically used as leather, as well as synthetic fur.
Ethical Sourcing from Wildlife
We do not use materials (such as skin, hair, or bone) that originate from wild-caught animals. We are committed to avoiding materials obtained through inhumane or primitive trapping methods, ensuring that all our sourcing practices are aligned with ethical standards.
Rabbit Hair (Angora)
At ANGORAH®, we only use hair from Angora goats, ensuring all our products are free from rabbit-derived Angora or any other animal hair or fur. Our goats are raised under ethical and free-range conditions, aligning with our dedication to animal welfare and sustainable practices.
